We currently have five school locations in the metro San Antonio area, two in the greater Austin area and our one campus in the Metro Fort Worth area! Attendance Bonus

Each teacher receives 5 personal days annually (in addition to the 24 shutdown days annually). If you do not utilize the days, you are eligible to earn up to $1200 at the conclusion of the academic school year!

Meet the Talent Acquisition Team

Purvi Gordon

VP of HR/Talent Acquisition

Purvi was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona. She attended the University of Arizona where she obtained a double degree in both elementary and special education. After years of teaching, she also pursued and obtained a master’s degree in educational psychology & counseling.

Purvi has recently joined the BASIS Texas Charter Schools network. Prior to coming to BASIS, Purvi served in numerous roles at a local, high-performing Charter School and was formerly a special education & math teacher in Arizona. In her most recent role as Managing Director of Staffing & HR, Purvi focused on driving multiple initiatives to help foster sustainability, community, and growth in education. She is eager to jump into her role at BASIS Ed Texas, and to help grow our schools from 6 to many more in the upcoming years!

Andrea Tressler

HR Business Partner/Recruiter

Andrea was born and raised in Edinburg, Texas. She graduated from the University of Texas-Pan American in 2010, with a Bachelor’s in mass communication- concentration in Public Relations. Andrea began her career in education as a 4th and 5th grade English Language Arts teacher at St. Matthew’s Episcopal School in 2012. She saw four 6th grade graduating classes before transitioning to a fast-paced Charter School in 2016.

Andrea had the privilege of being a founding teacher in San Antonio, Texas in 2017 where she taught 6th and 7th grade English Language Arts. It was in 2018 that family life moved her from the classroom and into Human Resources. Since then, Andrea has made people the focus of her work starting as an HR Intern and eventually becoming Director of Human Resources over the course of 3 years. Andrea comes to BASIS Ed Texas with years of experience mitigating risks and ensuring staff is heard, supported, and can thrive in their roles!

Candice Hoyle

Talent Recruiter

Candice was raised in Trinidad & Tobago, but born in North Carolina. She loves to hike and write poetry. Candice graduated from the University of Arizona in 2011 with a bachelor’s degree in Economy & Industry with a concentration in Human Resources.

Candice is passionate to be a part of removing barriers that exist for all students seeking and gaining resources to obtain a postsecondary degree. She has recently joined the BASIS Ed Texas Talent Acquisition team as a Recruiter. Previously, Candice worked in other rigorous and fast-growing Charter schools and has served in multiple HR roles for Amphitheater Public School District and Catalina Foothills School District in Arizona. Candice’s priorities on the BASIS Ed Texas HR/Talent Acquisition team involves recruitment, hiring, and retention. She is excited to continue her journey at BASIS Ed Texas!

Heather Polonsky

Talent Recruiter

Heather was born and raised in the Washington, DC area. She attended the University of Maryland where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in English Language and Literature. Shortly after, she went on to obtain a Master’s Degree in Teaching. Before joining the BASIS Texas Charter Schools network as a recruiter and university relations specialist, Heather enjoyed life for many years as a BASIS teacher and was promoted to school leadership.

Heather believes her passion for teaching and BASIS schools will inspire many prospective teachers to come join our exuberant BASIS Texas network of schools!
