Student Support Teacher (SST): Grades 2-3
BASIS.ed Texas is searching for a Student Support Teacher (SST): Grades 2-3 to start immediately!
This person will be working virtually with students who are enrolled in our Full Year Distance Learning Program. The Student Support Teacher (SST) will be responsible for general academic support that is necessary for students to successfully complete work that is assigned by their Subject Expert Teacher. The SST will grade work, maintain gradebooks and interface with the Subject Expert Teacher to offer high level support for Distance Learning Students. A willingness to work closely with the Subject Expert Teachers is important. The SST will work from either the BASIS San Antonio Northeast campus or the BASIS Austin campus to deliver their services to students. The SST will be expected to participate in on-site school tasks. Confidence in delivering support via online platforms is expected. The ability to communicate with students and parents in a manner representative of the BASIS.ed Texas mission and core values is required.
Minimum Qualifications: A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education and able to obtain a valid fingerprint clearance are required to teach at BASIS. In addition to a Bachelor's degree, documentation of passage of a state authorized elementary subject knowledge education test fulfills the highly qualified requirement which vary by state. Demonstrated passion for student achievement and directed effort to raise individual student outcomes.
Preferred Qualifications: A minimum of 3 years of experience as an elementary educator is preferred. A successful applicant will demonstrate strong communication skills and be open to new ideas in teaching methods.
