Location:Phoenix, AZ

BASIS Chater Schools are seeking qualified candidates for a Elementary Math/Science Teacher for the 2019/2020 school year in the Phoenix Metro area!

BASIS.ed Teachers are part of one of the most collaborative and professional teaching communities. The flexibility over curriculum allows BASIS.ed Teachers to motivate students to reach their highest potential while preparing them for the demands of higher education and leading them to a rewarding career and global citizenship. BASIS.ed teachers spend more time teaching students and teaming up with fellow educators. They thrive on the autonomy and academic freedom to create dynamic lessons that provide students with new ideas and a fresh outlook on their future.

BASIS.ed Primary Subject Expert Teachers (SETs) are knowledgeable, passionate elementary teachers that believe that with the right support and encouragement, any child can excel. We hire elementary school teachers with academic degrees or an educational emphasis in the disciplines they teach. BASIS.ed elementary Subject Expert teachers are able to focus on their teaching a specific subject rather than preparing lessons for several subjects every day. They work collaboratively with the Learning Expert Teachers (LETs) to cultivate a joyful learning culture where hard work is celebrated and where intellectual pursuits result in extraordinary student outcomes. At the elementary level, LETs help you focus on instruction while they customize education to meet the individual differentiation needs of each student. Subject Expert Teachers in the BASIS.ed elementary model will have a specific focus in either Math and Science, Humanities and Language Arts, Mandarin, Engineering and Visual or Performing Arts. As a SET, it is primarily your responsibility to develop engaging, content-rich subject specific lesson plans and to teach creative thinking and problem solving.

Additional duties of Subject Expert Teachers include, but are not limited to:

  1. Prepare subject specific lessons for elementary aged students
  2. Providing subject instruction on a higher level than grade-standard in an interactive learning environment and delivering exceptional results for all students
  3. Implementing BASIS.ed curriculum by designing effective and creative lessons and assessments to ensure students' education is at a truly internationally competitive level
  4. Collaborating with other BASIS.ed teachers to form a community of smart, talented and interesting people who are passionate about education and readily willing to work in a professional, academic environment
  5. Tutoring students in content-specific knowledge (math, sciences, fine arts, engineering and world history - just to name a few) and skills to heighten the trajectory of students' academic and career success
  6. Managing student behavior to foster academic achievement, personal responsibility, intellect and individuality in all students
