Principal Software Applications Developer

BASIS.ed is seeking an experienced full stack developer to join in creating proprietary web- and tablet-based educational applications. Our mission is to enhance the teaching and learning experience without shifting focus from the teacher to technology.

This position requires a "language agnostic", creative, logical, and self-driven person who is more than just another programmer. We are looking for a true developer; who can observe interactions and activities, and find a way to add value through technology; who embraces the fact that their product will impact hundreds of classrooms and thousands of students.

Education and Experience:

  • 10+ years of development experience with extensive background in different technologies
  • Skilled in cradle-to-grave development
  • Core competencies should include Java, PHP, SQL, REST, JavaScript, JQuery, and CSS
  • Ability to learn and leverage different languages and frameworks quickly
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodology, UI, and Design principles.
  • Comfortable working in OS X, Windows, Linux, and Android environments
